This page details the operation behind Starburst Galaxy billing.

    How billing works #

Starburst Galaxy tracks cluster usage based on the following metrics:

    1. Compute hours
    2. Cross region data writes
    3. Private link data transfer

The total due that appears on your monthly invoices is calculated as usage minus any credits applied during the billing period. This includes prepaid credits or credits granted by Starburst.

    Plans and pricing #

Usage rates are determined by your plan. You can try Starburst Galaxy for free with a 30-day free trial.

Adding a payment method upgrades your plan to the Pro plan after the trial ends and prevents any interruption in service. Failure to add a payment method before the end of the trail automatically assigns you to the Free plan, and any clusters you used that are exclusive to paid plans are disabled.

The Free plan still allows you to log into your Galaxy account to use features that do not rely on any running clusters.

Starburst charges for cross-region support and connections that use AWS PrivateLink or Azure Private Link.
