Galaxy home page #
The home page welcomes users to Starburst Galaxy, helps new users get started with key tasks, and allows returning users to pick up where they left off.
To return to the home page from anywhere in Galaxy, click the Starburst Galaxy logo in the navigation menu.
All users #
The home page takes your name from the user profile
settings for your email address. The
values entered into the First name, Last name, and Display name
fields are displayed as part of the Welcome greeting. Click Edit profile
to edit your user information.
SCIM-managed users cannot manually edit name and email fields.
The Start querying button on the Start with sample data card lets you run sample queries using our pre-configured catalog and cluster.
The Running clusters section is always displayed, regardless of whether any clusters are running. When clusters are not running, this section displays the View all clusters button. Click it to open the Clusters pane where you can create, view, suspend, resume, and manage clusters. When clusters are running, this card lists all running clusters and provides a link that lets you See cluster activity.
New users #
For new users with administrative privileges, the home page displays a Connect your data card. The Create catalog button opens the Create a catalog pane, where you can create, view, and manage catalogs.
Returning users #
The Recent queries section is shown to all returning users who have run at least one query. This section lists the five most recently run queries.
Non-administrative users see a list of their recent queries. Administrative users see a list of the recent queries run by all users. View all brings you to the Saved queries pane. Each query in the list has a Share button that lets you share that query with the members of other roles.
